![]() ![]() Hope this helped you out and if I'm wrong about anything yall can correct me. Well, I prefer the original over the remake. I have also beaten the DS remake in October, too. Was frustating at times, but it was worth. ![]() Sm64ex port: This repo is described as the closest thing to playing the game on an emulator, tho I see it as something like the first version of the pc version that was released back in May 2019 (I think) Sonic in Super Mario 64 DS: Russmarrs2: 16: 38760: 06-07-18 02:17 PM by one cup of kirby » Another Super Mario 3D 1.09(JAP) hack mario 64: 3: 6377: 06-05-18 02:09 AM by DaneGaming » W.I. At the end, I have finally beaten SM64 (on the PC port, still counts as beating the N64 version tho, as the PC ports save files are compatible with emulators) on July. It was all over 4chan and was created by the same people who decompiled sm64. ![]() ![]() There are a lot of misunderstanding going on with the PC port and misinformation aswell as it is not getting much attention. ROMHACK: This repo is used right now to play SM64 Star Road in the pc port. Super Mario 64 has been ported to PC from the N64 unofficially through the decomp code without emulation. There aren't a lot of mods or patches available for this one yet but it'll probably get more stuff in the future. There is now a DirectX 12 PC version of Super Mario 64 that you can download John Papadopoulos 23 Comments Now here is something that came out of nowhere. Sm64ex alo: I'm not 100% sure what this one is about but I think it's a new repo that's intended to replace sm64ex nightly. Sm64coop: This repo is used to play sm64 co-op, a mod that let's you play sm64 in co-op multi-player with online support. This is the full original Super Mario 64 PC Port with SDL and Source Code. This reverse-engineered port has widescreen and ultra wide support, DX12, Xbox controller support, and software based ray tracing. This repo supports the newest versions of render 96 so I reccomend using this one for the mod. Nintendo ninjas have been taking down every link, source, and video with the game. The mod itself restores the in game graphics to look like the promotional art for the game, amongst other improvements and additions. Render96alpha: This is the newest repo used to play render 96. Some patches with render 96 support may only support older versions on this one but I don't reccomend using this one. Render96master: This is the older version of the repo used to play the render 96 mod. It has the most support and is how you'll play the basic game with enhancements and stuff. Sm64ex nightly: This is the main repo that you'll use to play sm64. Nintendo ninjas have been taking down every link, source, and video with the game. Sm64ex master: I'm not sure no one uses this one it's probably pretty old. Supposedly this was supposed to be a big E3 announcement but because of Covid-19 screwing up a lot of business plans video game companies have had it's now rumored Nintendo isn't gonna do a Direct in June anymore, and instead wait until Covid has at least subsided to the point that it won't be a harm to their employees (Nintendo devs are all working from home right now and even Sakurai has said the planned ARMS DLC fighter in Smash Ultimate might not make the originally planned June release anymore).Ok so the different repos have they're different purposes. Also with this rumor is Super Mario 3D World is getting the "Deluxe" treatment on Switch like Mario Kart 8 and New Super Mario Bros U got, meaning it'll be its own release separate from the remasters of 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy. It originally started out as a joke idea and the initial version was based on the PC port of the game, but that port is designed with modern hardware in mind, and its graphics abstraction layer is slow. For those who don't know, it's been rumored since March that Nintendo is making a remaster collection of past 3D Mario games for the Switch which will include Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy (though the rumors don't specify if it's Galaxy 1 and 2 or just Galaxy 1 but it'd be really weird to me if it was just Galaxy 1), which basically keep the visuals the same as the originals but they've been polished to look nice in 1080p. This is a port of the original Super Mario 64 from 1996 to the Nintendo DSi, based on the open-source decompilation of the game. Many YouTubers have posted videos of the gameplay, although a lot of them have been taken down due to copyright claims. As a result, it runs smoothly and can run in 4K or ultra-wide modes. A lot of people are wondering if this along with Nintendo asking Sony to take down any Dreams creations that use Mario stuff are just another sign of the rumored "Super Mario All-Stars 3D" collection for Switch to commemorate Mario's 35th anniversary. Playing Super Mario 64 on PCs isn't a new concept, but this new port runs natively on Windows 10, meaning it's not running in emulation. Nintendo Ninjas got to the official links now. ![]()
